Do you need to make a platter for a summer picnic or just would like something different to have?  Try homemade guacamole and pita chips.

Ingredients:

3 avocados

1 cup of salsa – homemade or store bought

½ tsp of pepper

½ tsp of garlic powder

Pinch of oregano

½ tbsp. of lemon juice

2 Pita bread

1 tsp of sea salt

1 tbsp of olive oil

2-3 cloves of garlic

Directions for Pita Chips:

  1. Crush gloves of garlic into a bowl.

  2. Add olive oil.

  3. Brush onto pita bread – just want a thin layer of oil

  4. Sprinkle the sea salt over the pita

  5. Bake in the oven for 10 minutes at 400 degrees Fahrenheit

  6. When done cut into wedges.

Directions for Guacamole:

  1. Cut the 3 avocados into cubes in a bowl.

  2. Add salsa and mash together – mash to desire – if you want chunky just mix the salsa with the avocado.

  3. Add pepper, garlic powder, oregano and lemon juice and stir.

  4. Can add chives as well if you would like.
