Why take The Prenatal Exercise Experience Webinar with Rachel?

“In 2009, I obtained my Kinesiology degree from the University of Western Ontario, where I also started my Pilates training. Part of the training included the option to take Pre and Postnatal Pilates courses. The studio was affiliated with the University’s Pregnancy and Exercise lab. The studio provided data from participants by surveying them on the effects of Pilates during their delivery and their recovery time. From that point on, I started teaching Pilates classes to prenatal and postnatal clients.

After graduating, I continued my Pilates training with various courses such as STOTT Pilates Injuries and Special Populations course, which included pregnancy as one of the course topics. In 2019, I got pregnant with my first child, and during this time I started to apply a lot of the course knowledge to my own exercise routine. Experiencing this in your own body is completely different than what you learn on paper, so I started researching and following other people who taught prenatal classes alongside taking the Girls Gone Strong Prenatal and Postnatal Coaching Certificate.

Along this journey, I had an excellent pregnancy and continued to learn by taking a Trauma Birth Recovery course, which included various outcomes of delivery. I am currently going through my second pregnancy and taking the Girls Gone Strong Level 2 Prenatal and Postnatal Coaching Certificate. In short, pregnancy is not one size fits all, and teaching more fitness professionals about what to be aware of when seeing pre- or postnatal clients can make a huge impact on their clients’ pregnancy journey.”
