Many of you probably have heard me say, that is homework! I’m not kidding either. The Pilates roll up is quite challenging for people and should be practiced outside the classroom, especially those who only attend once a week.
My reason being is that this is a great exercise to strengthen the abdominals and teach one control. Often people’s feet will lift because they do not have the abdominal strength to get up, so other than the exercises shown in this video, just practice the rolling down part. Once that gets stronger then add in the beginning.

Personally, I enjoy the feeling of the roll up and always am excited when it is roll up time in class! 🙂 The feeling of the stretch and lengthening of the muscles just helps me get rid of stress held in the body.
