Sept. 3

Again we started the morning with setting up the house. We made breakfast and espresso before heading to Cathedral Grove.  Cathedral Grove is a provincial park known for the size of its trees.  There are pictures on the internet showing that the trees are wider than 10 people.

The tree thickness is almost my height

This park is not like the parks in Ontario where there is a big sign and sometimes a toll to get in.  As we were driving along the highway there were signs to slow down because there were people crossing the road.  Literally this park is on the side of the highway and you just pull over and walk the trails.  We had lots of fun taking pictures here and walking the trail.

The largest tree in the park

After Cathedral Grove, we stopped for coffee on our way back to Nanaimo and then dropped Sam off at Departure Bay for the ferry.  It was a great weekend and a great way to discover our surroundings.

Sam – A woman walk by said, “WOW, look at those triceps”! lol
